yard warrior

Well I hope everyone had a fantastic Fathers Day!! We had an amazing day, from going to the pool, to having sno cones, all the way to fighting off night furies in the backyard....eventful, I know. I'm not sure how Ajax comes up with half of the stuff he does, but it can be delightfully entertaining. Here are a few pictures I snapped of him as a warrior.. the dog had torn the soaker hose completely apart, so Ajax's headdress is the inside of the hose and his "black belt" was the actual hose...so stinkin' cute! Enjoy.

kinda love this little one

Here are a few pictures I took of my niece Karsyn when I went to Texas at the beginning of May. She is such a sweet, very curious little one...for these pictures I was literally out in my dads backyard looking at cows with Karsyn..when trying to photograph children, a lot of times they will turn on the cheese when they see the camera.  Karsyn didn't mind at all..she is a natural.

simply sibley

Well as I promised I would be posting pictures of unfamiliar faces soon. I got off of work today nervous as could be..after all today was the big day to put myself to the test..I believe I passed..dont get me wrong I have much to conquer before I'll be calling myself a professional photographer.. but hey practice makes perfect, right?
Sibley was my first victim, needless to say she made it unbelievably easy for me just an amazing little girl..she is around 7 weeks old. I was scared at first because I didn't think she would sleep at all because she wasn't a 4 day old newborn but I stand corrected..she slept and made my job easy! Here is some of what I got. Enjoy.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
While I have always enjoyed photography, I was recently given a professional style camera by my amazing husband, making it possible for me to really make use of my creativity.  I practice on our daughter, Monroe, and my husband says she has more pictures taken of her than Suri Cruise.  So with that, I am thinking about stepping out of my comfort zone and photographing other people. Im excited about photography and I believe that images are one of the few things we leave for posterity and we dont take nearly enough quality photos.  With the age of the camera phone, we're getting away from showing our true beauty.  Instead, we are uploading profile pictures taken in a bathroom somewhere just because we are having a good hair day.  I'd like to offer an accessible alternative to that.
These pictures were taken on our couch with some of our own record collection...I want to be an "on location" photographer, having a child in familiar surroundings will allow them to feel more comfortable and be themselves...I hope you all enjoy my blog and most of all, my pictures.  Just be patient, I promise I will start blogging about babies other than my own. good night all.
